Concordia Private Care is seeking part-time Personal Care Aides for flexible shifts to care for our patients.
Open Locations:
Cabot Campus, Bethlen/Ligonier campus and Allison Park Campus.
Schedule: Monday-Friday and/or weekend hours are available. Part-time daylight or evening /flexible schedule!
POSITION SUMMARY
The personal care aide is a paraprofessional staff member trained to provide personal care, activities of daily living, exercise programs, and related services in the home for the sick and disabled, when no family member can assume this responsibility. This employee functions under the direction, instruction and supervision of the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
QUALIFICATIONS
Successfully completes Agency Competency Evaluation
One year of supervised employment as a personal care aide or nursing assistant is preferred
Scores at or above the 75% score on the nursing assistant evaluation/pre-employment test
Ability to understand and carry out directions and instructions and keep appropriate records
Hold current CPR and First Aid card (HSFA)
Reliable, independent means of transportation to make home visits
Car must be covered by established amount of insurance as described in personnel policies
Driver must have valid driver’s license
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide personal care including:
Bathing
Dressing
Grooming
Hair Care
Nail Care
Assistance with ambulation
Changing position in bed
Assistance with transfers
Oral hygiene
Changing bed linens of an incontinent beneficiary
Shaving
Deodorant application
Skin care with lotions and/or powder
Foot care
Ear care
Feeding
Housekeeping including but not limited to:
Dusting
Vacuuming
Light meal preparation
Taking out the trash
Laundry
Assistance with medications that are ordinarily self-administered and do not require the skills of a licensed nurse to be provided safely and effectively
