Weekend Housekeeper

Job Description

Hours: Saturday and Sunday 6am-1:30pm

The purpose of this position is to implement facility housekeeping procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
o Experience in housekeeping a plus but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB (with or without assistance):

Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing and pulling, fine hand coordination, ability to hear and respond to pages, ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions; ability to communicate with residents, families, personnel, vendors and consultants; ability to distinguish smells, tastes, and temperatures; and the ability to remain calm under stress.

RESPONSIBILITIES

o Implement housekeeping policies and procedures to meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
o Participate in the monitoring system for the housekeeping department.
o Notify supervisor when supplies are needed, equipment is in need of repair or when areas of the facility are in need of repair.
o Use housekeeping supplies efficiently.
o Follow material safety data sheets.
o Operate housekeeping equipment safely. Assist in proper care of housekeeping equipment. Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
o Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
o Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
o Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times. To be responsible for the safety of residents related to housekeeping duties.
o To observe infection control procedures at all times.
o Attend in-service training programs for housekeeping associates.
o To come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality. To accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner. To come to work in neat, clean clothing consistent with housekeeping policy.
o To perform other duties as requested by management.
