Assistant Director
This is a full-time position as an Assistant Director at Concordia Place on Milwaukee. The Assistant Director develops and administers the early learning program consistent with Concordia Place policies, needs of membership and community, and within city and state requirements. Reports to the Site Director.
Qualifications
- Must have: Bachelor's degree with 24 credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Elementary Education and 9 credits in administration, leadership, or management
- Must have: Gateways Director credential level 1 (level 2 preferred)
- 3-5 years experience as a director or assistant director supervising classroom staff in an early learning, preschool or school age program with at least 50 children
- Knowledge of children's physical, emotional and developmental patterns
- Knowledge of curriculum development and planning, in-service staff training and procedures for evaluation of the progress of individual children
- Sensitivity to the individual and group needs of children and their families
- Ability to communicate with parents and staff effectively
- Maturity to supervise staff
- Experience managing operations within budget
- Ability to delegate responsibility
- Ability to promote and present program at various forums
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and Publisher)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift up to a 30 pound child
Responsibilities:
Excellence in Mission
- Obtain and maintain city and state licensing, NAEYC standards and accreditation, and ExceleRate Quality Rating and Improvement System Gold Circle of Quality
- Ensure program and curriculum are whole-child focused, developmentally appropriate, and leading edge
- Maintain current knowledge in field
- Collaborate with parents to create support for their parenting and seamless transitions between home and center
- Cultivate parent relationships, including the Parents Matters committee
- Establish checks and balances for major functions, including enrollment, tuition accounts, and data integrity
- Work with other Concordia Ministries leadership to ensure a Place of One.
- Ensure facility program spaces are outward reflections of a Place of Excellence.
Financial Strength
- Responsible for program recruitment and enrollment, including, program marketing, open houses and other events for prospective families
- Coordinate with marketing and communications to ensure full enrollment
- Lead program operations within budget, current accounts, full enrollment, and appropriate staffing
- Coordinate with other staff to develop and execute fundraising strategies, including help to prepare grant proposals
Visibility
- Promote organization through community relationships and online channels (web, social media, etc.)
- Present programs to community groups; develop and foster relationships with key community and program leaders and organizations
- Coordinate program with other segments of Concordia and with community activities
Capacity for Growth
- Hire, manage, train, grow, and mentor staff appropriate to the current and future needs of program and organization
- Ensure all staff are fluent in Concordia messaging and branding.

Qualifications
Salary : $60,000
