What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Counselor position at Concordia Theological Seminary?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Admission Counselor reports to the Director of Admission, actively searches out and corresponds with prospective students, and assists with the Christ and Phoebe Academies and other on-campus activities for prospective students as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Traveling approximately one-half of the time recruiting students from his assigned territories.
- Attending other conventions and conferences as instructed by the Director.
- Serving as host to his own prospects and others as needed when they visit CTS.
- Maintaining correspondence with his prospective students.
- Assisting with Christ Academy, Christ Academy-College, and Phoebe Academy as needed.
- Assisting with all on-campus recruitment events as needed.
- When in town, attending all departmental meetings.
- Attending all Admission Committee Meetings.
- Performing whatsoever additional tasks assigned by the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- M.Div.
- Professional manner and appearance
- Capable of maintaining confidentiality
- Adaptable to change
SKILLS:
- Computer skills, especially Microsoft Office programs
- Telephone etiquette skills
- Ability to prioritize work
- Public relations skills
- Well organized
- Able to work with minimal supervision
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand at a computer for up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
