Concordia Visiting Nurses is seeking a Full-time Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) to serve our patients living in the Bridgeville and Upper St. Clair service area.
POSITION SUMMARY for the Physical Therapy Assistant PTA Position
- The Certified Physical Therapy Assistant [PTA] is a professional qualified to provide physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a Registered and Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) to patients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- Certified as an physical therapy assistant with an indirect license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Has performed the minimum of 2,000 hours of physical-therapy related acts which have been signed off by a supervising LPT.
- The individual must have worked three of the five previous five years in therapy with notarization of application and copy of their resume.
- Reliable, independent means of transportation to make home visits. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and drive a car with insurance limits as established in personnel policies
- Makes home visits to patients in accordance with the physician’s plan of care
- Implements the therapy program established by the LPT, providing services to prevent disability, relieve pain, restoring function and independence to achieve the patient’s full potential following disease or injury.
- Assists in teaching patients and in planning discharge from physical therapy services
- Completes required documentation for ongoing service on the day of the visit.
- Documentation is reviewed by the LPT to maintain compliance with the plan of care.
