Job description
Concordia Visiting Nurses is seeking multiple Full-time Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) to serve our patients living in the South Hills service area.
Areas for the Physical Therapy Assistant include:
The Certified Physical Therapy Assistant [PTA] is a professional qualified to provide physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a Registered and Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) to patients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.
QUALIFICATIONS for the Physical Therapy Assistant PTA position
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy AssociationCertified as an physical therapy assistant with an indirect license in the Commonwealth of PennsylvaniaHas performed the minimum of 2,000 hours of physical-therapy related acts which have been signed off by a supervising LPT.The individual must have worked three of the five previous five years in therapy with notarization of application and copy of their resume.Reliable, independent means of transportation to make home visits. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and drive a car with insurance limits as established in personnel policies
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES for the Physical Therapy Assistant PTA Position
Makes home visits to patients in accordance with the physician’s plan of careImplements the therapy program established by the LPT, providing services to prevent disability, relieve pain, restoring function and independence to achieve the patient’s full potential following disease or injury.Assists in teaching patients and in planning discharge from physical therapy servicesDocumentationCompletes required documentation for ongoing service on the day of the visit.Documentation is reviewed by the LPT to maintain compliance with the plan of care.
