Summary
Debt settlement law firm is seeking a part-time contract attorney that has litigation experience and preferably experience defending creditor lawsuits. A successful candidate should be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, and possess a true desire to help people who are in financial distress. Our company specializes in bankruptcy, consumer litigation, defense, debt negotiation, FDCPA violations and more.
Essential Requirements:
- Reviewing client files on intake to ensure that client files are appropriate for Firm’s services
- Reviewing settlement agreements between client and creditor
- Periodic review of client files to check client progress and to oversee all support staff action on file
- Occasional telephone calls and email communications with clients
- Occasional telephone calls and email communications with creditor attorneys or representatives
- Notation of all work on client files in Firm’s CRM system
- Occasional litigation work to defend creditor lawsuits
- Participation in drafting and/or recording any automated communications with clients

- Must have litigation experience

- Excellent attention to detail and follow-up
- Proficiency in MS Office Products
Required Education and Experience
- Active bar license with no pending issues
- Litigation experience
Preferred Competencies
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Position Type
The position is part time, 6 – 10 hours a month to start, depending on number of files.
Other Duties
The contract attorney may be asked to assume other duties not listed in this job description as business needs demand.
Compensation Information:
Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across the US.
