CP&P is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Ashland, VA (Hanover) pipe plant. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment. Reporting to the plant's Maintenance Supervisor, you'll play a key role in supporting the achievement of the facility's business goals and safety objectives.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment. Reporting to the plant's Maintenance Supervisor, you'll play a key role in supporting the achievement of the facility's business goals and safety objectives.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Commitment to Safety.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- General purpose steel fabrication and welding.
- Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations and defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, welding, electrical, and industrial skills.
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Must have own tools.
- Use of welders, torches, hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, and manlifts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Requirements:
- Must reside in the continental U.S. within the assigned region. No relocation assistance is provided.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
Typical Schedule: Work is generally performed Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week depending on workload and production demands. Overtime and weekend work may be required during heavy production periods.
Typical Physical Demands: Physical agility and may require any or all of the following: standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting (50lbs. max), pushing/pulling (50lbs. max).
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a production environment, with ambient weather/air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in all production areas. Dirty and dusty conditions at times which may require respirator protection. Controlled confined space work and working with chemicals. Facility manager maintains a complete list of SDSs on site at all times.
