CP&P is seeking an experienced Precast QC Manager in the Charlotte, NC area. In this role, you will oversee the quality control program at both our Concord and Denver plants, ensuring that production processes and finished products meet the highest standards of quality. You will drive compliance with industry standards, customer expectations, and continuous improvement initiatives, playing a key role in the success of our quality assurance programs and the delivery of top-tier products.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage the quality control program at both precast plants in the area, ensuring all products meet required specifications and industry standards.
• Lead the quality control team in performing inspections, testing, and analyzing raw materials, production processes, and finished products.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.
• Develop, implement, and improve quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure production efficiency and product quality.
• Manage, train, and mentor QC staff, fostering a culture of quality and safety within the team.
• Identify and resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with production teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation for quality control tests, inspection results, and compliance records.
• Act as the main point of contact for quality-related customer concerns and inquiries, providing timely resolutions.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
• Assist with new product development and support research and development efforts as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of quality control principles and industry standards (ACI, DOT) in precast concrete.
• Ability to analyze test data, blueprints, and production reports for quality and compliance.
• Proven leadership skills in managing, training, and motivating a QC team.
• High attention to detail in inspections, documentation, and reporting.
• Skilled in identifying quality issues, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills with team members, production staff, and customers.
• Proficient in QC software, technical drawings, mix designs, and test equipment.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while ensuring quality standards
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in quality control in the precast concrete industry or a related field.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
• Current NCDOT, ACI, and NPCA certifications, or willingness to be trained for and achieve certification.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality assurance programs.
Requirements:
• Must reside in the continental U.S. within the assigned region. No relocation assistance is provided.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
Typical Schedule: Work is generally performed Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week depending on workload and production demands.
Typical Physical Demands: Physical agility, which may require any or all the following: standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting (50 lbs. max), pushing/pulling (50 lbs. max).
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment, with long periods of sitting and working at a computer, as well as standing, walking, and occasional pulling, pushing, or lifting. Will also be in the production environment with ambient weather/air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in all production and loading areas.
