Position Snapshot: The primary responsibility of this position is to direct and manage operations at one of our four production buildings at the Ashland plant, with overall responsibilities for production, safety, quality, and other production-related activities. This position reports to the Plant Manager and is FLSA-Exempt (Salary). Compensation will be based on proven experience, work history, and knowledge of the industry.

Essential Functions:

Direct and manage plant operations for safe and efficient production and processing of quality precast concrete products.

Provide direction, development, and leadership to direct report employees for safety compliance, quality standards and operating performance.

Coordinate with other plant supervisors and/or management to foster teamwork and achieve established goals.

Implement cost-effective systems of control over operating expenditures and workforce.

Supervise proper operation and maintenance of company assets, facilities, and equipment, and recommend replacement of, or adjustments to, plant facilities and equipment to the plant manager when necessary.

Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives, specifically promoting safety as the top goal and core company value.

Incorporate organization, consistency, and cleanliness among plant personnel.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

At least 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a concrete production/manufacturing environment.

Excellent math and problem-solving skills, and ability to think “outside the box.”

Strong working knowledge of computers and software applications (i.e., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe).

Ability to work flexible hours according to production and operational demands.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of industrial/manufacturing equipment and operations.

Experience with industrial manufacturing methods and process improvement programs and procedures required.

Knowledge of concrete batching techniques and processes strongly preferred.

Must have working knowledge of state and federal employment, safety, and environment laws.

Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Industry-related and DOT certifications (ACI, QCAST, VDOT, MSHA) or ability to obtain certifications within specified timeframe.
Residency Requirement(s):

Must reside in the continental U.S. within the assigned region.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
Typical Physical Demands: Physical agility, which may require any or all of the following: Standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting (50lbs. max), pushing/pulling (50lbs. max).
Working Conditions: This position is physically demanding and often requires work outdoors, while exposed to all types of weather conditions. Work is performed in a production environment, with ambient air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting. Dirty and dusty conditions at times which may require respirator protection, and at times Controlled Confined Space work and working with chemicals. PPE is required at all times within production areas. Office work will be performed in clean, climate-controlled areas with fluorescent lighting.
