CP&P is seeking a personable and professional Receptionist/Office Administrator to join the team at our Ashland, VA precast plant. In this role, you'll be responsible for operating, answering, and routing calls from the company switchboard, ensuring all inquiries are handled promptly and courteously. You'll oversee front office operations, including managing the reception area, incoming and outgoing mail, and coordination of various office services. You'll also support internal logistics by arranging office moves and organizing meetings for both office and production personnel. This is a fast-paced, multifaceted role that requires strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail. Accuracy is critical, as errors can lead to missed opportunities and potential customer loss.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Manage the reception area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications both internally and externally, maintaining a professional company image.
- Maintain and update office areas and equipment, including layout, organization, and general housekeeping of the office facilities.
- Participate in special departmental projects as needed.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation activities.
- Maintain on-site personnel files, including hiring documents, orientation and safety training records, job descriptions, performance reviews, compensation records for production personnel, PTO tracking, and disciplinary records.
- Maintain confidential, separate files for employee medical information.
- Serve as a backup for accounts payable and payroll processing at the site.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the office manager and/or plant manager.

Typical Schedule: Work is generally performed Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week depending on workload. Overtime evening or weekend work may be required during heavy work periods.
Typical Physical Demands: Physical mobility, which may require any or all the following: standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting (30 lbs. max), pushing/pulling (50 lbs. max).
Working Conditions: Office work will be performed in clean, climate-controlled areas, with fluorescent lighting. May occasionally enter the production environment, with ambient weather/air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in all production and loading areas.
Compensation: Based on skills, knowledge, and experience.

- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least two (2) years of previous experience in office management.
