Position Snapshot: The Regional QA Manager plays a key role in implementing and enforcing all aspects of the corporate Quality program within the assigned region. In this position, you will coach employees on general quality practices, correct behaviors, and promote best practices through daily team effort. You will shape the Quality expectations for all employees by delivering Quality training programs as well as participating in and helping plan on-site Quality meetings, and you will provide support to plant leadership to achieve the goal of manufacturing quality product. This role requires 3-4 days of travel throughout the assigned region in any given week.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Perform Quality audits at each location within the designated region, and review findings with employees and supervisors.
• Assist plant supervision in creating a work environment focused on Quality by implementing new ideas and processes.
• Attend and participate in weekly and monthly Quality meetings as scheduled at each site.
• Manage the CRM CASE and Citrix Incident Reporting programs within the region. Provide reporting from both as scheduled and as requested.
• Assist plant leadership with CASE and Incident Report investigations and provide direction and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Assist plant supervision with review, update, implementation, and enforcement of Quality programs as needed.
• Assist GM, regional Operations Manager and/or plant leadership in managing/implementing company Quality training programs and conducting training as required.
• Work with the GM and regional Operations Manager on weekly and monthly Quality focus items, including CASE Alerts and other relevant communications.
• Prepare and issue Weekly Quality Messages as assigned.
• Active participation in Continuous Improvement team activities and objectives.
• Assist the regional Operations Manager and play an active role in the quality control hiring and training process.
• Support other tasks or projects designed to promote overall Quality improvement of plant functions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must have a solid foundation and working knowledge of Precast Pipe and Structures Quality Assurance/ Quality Control standards. Standards include NPCA, ACPA, ACI and ASTM as they apply to the precast industry.
• Expert knowledge of Quality work practices, identifying deficiencies and implementing corrective actions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing and be comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to travel 3-4 days a week with occasional overnight stays as required.
Qualifications:
• 5 years’ active experience in the Quality Assurance/Quality Control field in a manufacturing or construction environment.
• NPCA PQS I certification and/ or ACPA Q-Cast certification. Willingness to pursue NPCA Master Precaster and ACPA Q-Cast certifications.
• State-issued concrete plant technician certifications for the assigned region, or willingness to earn within 6 months.
Requirements:
• Must reside in the continental U.S. within the assigned region. No relocation assistance is provided.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to pass criminal a background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
Typical Schedule: Work is generally performed Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. This role requires 3-4 days of travel throughout the assigned region in any given week.
Typical Physical Demands: Physical agility, which may require any or all of the following: standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting (50lbs. max), pushing/pulling (50lbs. max).
Working Conditions: This position is physically demanding and often requires work outdoors, while being exposed to all types of weather conditions. Work is performed in a production environment, with ambient weather/air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting. Dirty and dusty conditions at times which may require respirator protection, and at times Controlled Confined Space work and working with chemicals. Office work will be performed in clean, climate-controlled areas with fluorescent lighting.
