CP&P is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join the team at our Salem, VA precast plant. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and maintaining forms, molds, and other components used in the production of high-quality precast concrete products. You will work closely with other team members to ensure production schedules are met while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Typical Physical Demands: Physical agility, which may require any or all the following: standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting (50 lbs. max), pushing/pulling (50 lbs. max), finger grasp, power grasp, wrist twist, balance; all may occur over an eight-hour period.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a production environment, with ambient weather/air conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in all production and loading areas.

In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and maintaining forms, molds, and other components used in the production of high-quality precast concrete products. You will work closely with other team members to ensure production schedules are met while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications to build and assemble forms and molds for concrete precast production.
- Measure, cut, bend, and weld materials to meet project requirements.
- Inspect and maintain forms, ensuring they are clean, aligned, and properly functioning.
- Collaborate with the production team to address mold adjustments, repairs, or modifications.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Perform quality checks to ensure fabricated components meet design specifications.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, or Stick welding (certifications preferred).
- Familiarity with metalworking tools and equipment, such as grinders, saws, and drills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs.) and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in fabrication, welding, or metalworking, preferably in a precast or manufacturing environment.
- Must reside in the continental U.S. within the assigned region. No relocation assistance is provided.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
