Position Snapshot: The Yard Supervisor is a vital part of the organization that handles all daily customer truck loading operating, product storage and arrangement and other duties. This position supervises and coordinate the activities of the yard crew that include forklift operators, patch crew, and product storage functions. Other tasks may be added depending on plant manager discretion. Compensation will be based on proven experience, work history, and knowledge of the industry.

Essential Functions:
- Must be able to improve working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and increase subordinates’ skills and capabilities.
- Assist Plant Manager in improving a system of yard control and organization that includes equipment upkeep, safety, truck loading and performance measurements.
- Provide direct supervision all employee in the Yard Crew.
- Plans and assigns work for employees on a daily basis.
- Works with dispatch on keeping all daily loads on track and inventory tracking.
- Implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
- Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development.
- Maintains the product storage areas in a clean and organized fashion.
- Operate individual heavy lift trucks of various sizes and weights.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment.
- Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees and supervisors.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Five (5) or more years of related experience.

Heavy equipment operating with industrial forklift experience is a must.
Equipment Used:
• General: Hand Tools, Power Tools, fixed machinery, heavy forklifts and office computers.

Must reside in the continental U.S. within the assigned region.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
Typical Physical Demands: Physical agility, which may require any or all of the following: Standing, sitting, walking, climbing, reaching, bending/stooping, lifting (50lbs. max), pushing/pulling (50lbs. max).
Working Conditions: Working in a production environment, with ambient air-conditions, loud noise, dangerous equipment, and variable lighting. Chemicals: facility management to review complete inventory of SDS’s prior to offering position.
