What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Duty Mechanics position at Concrete Placing Co., Inc.?
HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC – Concrete Placing Co. is adding 2 full time Heavy Duty Mechanics.
A minimum of two years of experience in the maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of equipment is required. Formal training in hydraulics and electrical systems is required. These are traveling positions. Apprentice program is available.
Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and identify hydraulic, drive train, electrical and diesel engine problems on heavy construction equipment. Mechanic will have the ability to make required repairs in the shop or in the field as needed. Aid other technicians, and shop foreman in identifying repair needs and ensure quality, timely, and efficient repairs are made in all cases.
Essential Functions:
- Perform repairs in the shop and on active constructions sites.
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot heavy equipment.
- Ability to do diagnostics and manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to work independently and provide accurate reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must know trucks, backhoes, excavators, pavers, loaders, generators and have welding & electrical skills.
- Must have own tools.
Required Experience:
- 2 years experience in heavy duty and small equipment.
- Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement and a clean driving record.
- Wage DOE. W/ Health insurance, Benefits and Vacation.
