Our Night crew have starting times between from 10 AM to 12 AM earn $21.41 per hour.

Concrete Technology Corporation (CTC) is looking to expand our production team. We are hiring Concrete Production General Laborers to work in our manufacturing plant, conveniently located in the Port of Tacoma.

FULL-TIME: 40 hours a week Overtime
PAY: $20.76 an hour qualifying late shifts at $21.41 (After 10:00 AM and before 3:00 AM start times).

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Identification of commonly used hand tools; and tool uses.
- Schedules are Monday through Friday; may include weekends depending on business needs.
- MUST be willing and able to work a flexible daily/weekly schedule (see work environment & schedule).
- Maintain exceptional attendance by being at work every day and before scheduled start times (rigorously observed).
- Must join Laborers’ Union, Local 252.
- Pass a standard drug test and a background check (we do test for marijuana).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, Ability & willingness to work and succeed in a team environment, be teachable, courteous of others, and have an overall positive attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift 50lbs frequently and up to 70lbs occasionally.
- Kneel, stand, bend, stoop, squat, twist, stretch, and reach regularly and repetitively.
- Work a minimum of 8 hours while performing physical labor regularly.
- Stand for long periods.
- Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects/tools/controls.
- Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
- Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
- Use fingers to grasp, move, twist, or assemble small to large objects (bolts, washers, bands, tie wire, cable wire, etc.).
- Be comfortable to work and be subject to all weather conditions in all work areas.
- May perform work in a double open bay covered area(s), open yard(s) with limited or no cover, and without temperature control.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Duties of the job can be carried out in a double open bay and covered area(s), in the limited or uncovered yard(s), and without temperature control;
- Performed work is under all weather conditions and temperatures, in observance of laws and regulations;
- EMPLOYEES MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO WEAR RESPIRATOR MASKS WHEN REQUIRED BY WORK AREA AND TASK(S) (assigned based upon business and production needs. RESPIRATOR MASKS REQUIRE THE EMPLOYEE TO BE CLEAN-SHAVEN TO ENSURE PROPER SEAL;
- All schedules are subject to weekly changes. Changes can include; scheduled work time, assigned production area and tasks, mandatory weekend work with no more than two mandatory Saturday’s a month per the union Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and occasional mandatory Sundays (rare), and overtime (mandatory or voluntary) based upon production/business needs:
- Day Shift - Start times vary between: 3:00 AM – 10:00 AM @ $20.76/hr.
- Premium Shift – Start times vary between: 10:00 PM – 1:00 AM @ $21.41/hr.
- Mandatory Voluntary Overtime: Daily and weekends based upon business needs.
- Voluntary Overtime: Daily and weekends may be available based on business needs.
Job Duties May Include But Not Limited To:
- Cuts rebar and roll spiral;
- Ties Rebar 1 ½ to 2 hours every other day, but can be up to 5 hours depending on the project.
- Patches, sacks, grinds, sandblasts, burns projecting strands, cleans plates, uses epoxies, pressure washes, acid cleans, paints rebar, uses chipping guns, or cleans up finished concrete products;
- Assists in the production of new assemblies, including non-certified welding;
- Works in the warehouse, Production Areas, Yards, or loads trucks;
- Produces lifting loop(s), “hold-downs(s)” and “harp-up(s)”;
- Operates cut-off saws and related equipment;
- Operates bridge cranes to hand forms or finished products;
- Operates heavy mobile equipment;
- Traffic Control (Flagger);
- Uses brooms and other equipment to keep plant production areas in clean and orderly condition, including operating motorized vehicles for transporting scrap production materials and debris;
- Complies with all safety and quality procedures and objectives;
- Performs other duties as assigned by Foreman, Mentor, or management.
Late Shift Job Duties But Not Limited To:
- Responsible for safe and efficient handling of products, forms, equipment, materials, proper use of rigging, and lifting hardware.
- Release and remove precast forms from the product(s) by following our procedures that protect the product and precast mold from damage.
- Understands and uses the proper procedures for dunnage and bunking methods for the precast forms and products.
- Must know crane hand signals.
- Responsible for safe “harp-up” of girders.
- Responsible for proper and safe use of cranes, rigging, and lifting hardware.
- Knowledgeable of equipment capacities.
- Knowledgeable of basic production procedures and plant scheduling considerations.
- Proactive in equipment care and maintenance, exhibit good housekeeping habits, and practice safe work habits and procedures.
- Set-up or Pouring Skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Foreman, Mentor, or Management.
