Job Overview:
We are looking for a motivated and safety-conscious Street Light Technician Helper to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of street lighting systems. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals eager to learn and grow in the electrical field while working under the supervision of an experienced technician or foreman. As a helper, you will be integral to supporting the team with various tasks on job sites, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the construction, maintenance, and repair of street lighting systems, including overhead and underground lines, under the supervision of a Street Light Technician or Foreman.
• Assist in the installation, removal, and repair of streetlight heads, bulbs, photocells, and poles.
• Safely handle tools, materials, and equipment to support technicians in the field.
• Operate basic hand tools and power tools, as directed.
• Assist in setting up, maintaining, and removing equipment such as bucket trucks and digger derrick trucks, under supervision.
• Support excavation work for the installation and removal of poles and assist in the preparation of work areas.
• Help ensure job sites remain clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Assist in identifying underground hazards and follow safety protocols.
• Maintain communication with supervisors and team members to ensure job efficiency.
• Be prepared to work in varying weather conditions and assist with physical tasks such as lifting and moving materials.
• Follow safety guidelines and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Keep accurate records of tasks and materials used.

Schedule:

• Overtime and weekend work may be required, depending on the project.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Minimum Experience: No prior experience required; willingness to learn on the job is essential.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Skills:
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
• Strong interest in learning electrical and construction skills.
• Ability to perform physical labor and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform manual labor.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions and on uneven terrain.
• Must be able to safely assist in the operation of trucks and other heavy equipment (with training and supervision).

Additional Information:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
