Our real-time simulation and professional driving simulator solutions include static deskside solutions, through to full-scale driver-in-the-loop dynamic simulators. Position Overview:
- Responsible for performing complex machine operations in support of developmental and manufacturing activities. Working from formal engineering drawings or rough sketches, fabricates complex and intricate mechanical assemblies for engineering models or production systems. Utilize Solid Works 3D modeling software to develop drawings for review prior to fabrication.
- Designs, constructs and documents fixtures, tools and methods to facilitate fabrication and testing of mechanical and electronic assemblies throughout the manufacturing process.
- Provide design changes and modification of hardware in production.
Essential Duties:
- Involved with new design and prototype development.
- Provide solutions to complex mechanical engineering design problems encountered in assigned areas.
- Communicate problem and solution data to other engineers and production personnel.
- Able to work alone or in a team environment in support of engineering design projects and manufacturing production.
- Provide 3D drawings using Solid Works to ensure engineering requirements are met prior to final fabrication.
- Plans layout and construction of complex mechanical assemblies.
- Documents impromptu designs for adaptation into engineering drawings for production.
- Develops tools, fixtures and methods for assembling mechanical hardware used in a production environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- 4 years of high school or equivalency, plus 2 years of advanced education, specialized training.
- Over 2 years, up to and including 4 years of experience.
- Working knowledge to interpret and correct engineering design drawings and instructions.
- Possess expertise in the operation of router tables, Bridgeport mill, drill presses, band saw, grinders and shears to perform intricate and complex modification or fabrication of engineering designs.
- Working knowledge of 3D printers to design and support various applications.
- Work of moderate complexity requiring a good degree of improvising in the application of procedures and methods. Work is performed using defined and uniform procedures. Refined problem solving skills are required.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
