As part of the Energy, Resilience and Sustainability (ERS) Division, you will collaborate with experts to provide comprehensive policy, planning, and implementation services to deliver solutions that address critical infrastructure resilience and security issues and support the military mission, while reducing environmental impacts. We take our role seriously, as our efforts ensure our installations and assets are prepared in any operating environment, present and future.

The ERS Division is seeking a qualified and proactive candidate to work collaboratively with our senior Air Force clients to identify and develop energy and water programs, projects, and initiatives that can translate strategic goals into actionable solutions. As a Senior Energy Policy Analyst, you will be a problem solver, working closely with clients and leading teams to find the best solutions to implement federal policies and create resilience-focused approaches. This is a hybrid position located in the Washington, D.C area, with the flexibility to work from home while participating in some in-person client and team discussions at or near CTC's Crystal City office. Some travel is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead ongoing energy/water resilience efforts, with the objective of translating those processes and lessons learned into implementable frameworks and projects
  • Apply technical knowledge to identify potential projects, such as metering, microgrids and on-base generation, that can enhance energy resilience
  • Identify potential funding mechanisms, such as ESPCs and ERCIP, for energy and water resilience projects
  • Serve as a primary POC for clients on larger and/or more complex projects
  • Ensure project teams have the ability to meet the client's technical and process requirements
  • Facilitate policy and strategy development focused on improving installation energy and climate resilience
  • Provide detailed updates to leadership and stakeholders by participating in meetings/forums
  • Build strong client relationships and help grow CTC's ERS division
  • Mentor and assist with the development of junior staff     


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related discipline with at eight-ten (8-10) years of relevant experience; master’s degree preferred
  • Possess an interest in identifying innovative processes and projects to enhance energy resilience
  • Willingness and ability to set priorities and deliver under tight deadlines in a heavy workload setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capacity to both lead and work in teams, and establish and maintain cross-functional and working relationships
  • Experience using data analytics to discover inefficient internal processes, develop streamlined practices, make data-driven decisions, and help clients identify the best path forward
  • Capability to independently initiate and manage tasks, with a high degree of detail and process orientation
  • Detail-oriented with ability to produce high-quality results
  • The candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Common Access Card (CAC) for this position.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possess an interest in identifying innovative processes and projects to enhance energy resilience
  • Understanding of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, relationships, and operational planning objectives of Department of the Air Force and DoD organizations
  • Knowledge of federal energy, water, and climate policies
