The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in cable assembly, interpreting engineering drawings, and working with aerospace tools and quality procedures. This role requires a hands-on professional who can read and understand assembly drawings, BOMs, and wire lists, ensuring precise execution in a high-tech production environment.

What will I be delivering?

As a Production Operator, you will have the opportunity to participate in the following:

• 
  Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings

o Comprehend assembly drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and wire lists (Excel for cables).

o Analyze AutoCAD and SolidWorks drawings to extract specifications and build requirements.

o Identify correct screws, components, and hardware from engineering documentation.

• Cable Assembly & Manufacturing

o Interpret and build cable assemblies following detailed schematics.

o Utilize crimpers, heat guns, and other cable assembly tools to ensure secure connections.

o Read and follow wire lists for accurate cable routing and termination.

o Apply basic soldering techniques when required.

• Tool Proficiency & Precision Work

o Utilize hand tools such as socket wrenches for mechanical assembly.

o Operate specialized aerospace tools including microscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), pin gauges, micrometers, and calipers to ensure high precision.

o Identify components and determine the correct tool for assembly tasks.

• Quality Assurance & Troubleshooting

o Follow quality procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

o Identify and troubleshoot design issues, component mismatches, and assembly errors.

o Conduct inspections using measurement tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.

• Collaboration & Process Improvement

o Work closely with engineers and production teams to resolve technical challenges.

o Provide feedback on design improvements and process optimizations.

o Maintain detailed documentation of assembly work and quality checks.

What do I need to bring with me?

Qualifications & Skills:

• At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, or electronics assembly environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
• Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD & SolidWorks drawings, and Excel for cable specifications.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools and specialized aerospace tools.
• Knowledge of soldering techniques and familiarity with crimping, heat shrinking, and wire harness assembly.
• Strong understanding of quality procedures, tolerances, and aerospace standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a dynamic production setting.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 (Cable and Wire Harness Assembly Standards) or J-STD-001.
• Experience working in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methods.
