Job Description
Location : New York, NY
The Audio Producer works on a suite of podcasts and performs other audio needs for the magazine. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated interest in the range of subjects covered by podcasts, which include politics, culture, fiction, and poetry, as well as ability to develop compelling show ideas and series and produce episodes commensurate with voice and editorial standards. The ideal candidate is a generalist who combines serious literary knowledge and experience with political awareness. The candidate will also have a creative eye for opportunities to integrate audio into pieces online, and into video and other media. This is a guild position.
Responsibilities :
Booking, producing, recording, editing, and publishing a set of original podcasts and article narrations.
Planning and coordinating work with editors, writers, engineers, and others across and Condé Nast Audio departments.
Managing the production and distribution of podcasts.
Identifying opportunities to include audio elements in projects, and coordinate their production.
Collaborate with the magazine’s video and interactives teams on projects with audio elements, handling sound mixing and sound design as needed.
Taking a central role in insuring A.D.A. compliance related to podcasts and other audio programming.
Streamlining processes and coordinating / communicating changes with partners and other stakeholders.
Providing A.I.-generated transcripts of podcasts to editors and fact checkers as needed.
Additional duties as required, or as assigned by manager.
Skills and Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
At least three years of audio-production experience.
Proficiency in ProTools.
Experience working with mixing boards and other equipment, including mic technique in a variety of recording environments.
Excellent management and communication skills.
Strong editorial values and creative judgment, with an appreciation for the history, style, and standards of .
Experience in Web publishing.
Willingness to work some early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
The expected base salary range for this position is from $74,350 - $80,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
