Overview :
The Junior Video Editor is an entry level position working in a variety of support functions for the editorial team. This role will utilize both creative and technical skills to complete early and finishing stages of digital video edits across a range of formats, concepts, and brands. From pulling selects to finalizing and delivering projects, this role will be crucial to the efficiency and ultimate success of Condé Nast’s digital content. The Junior Video Editor reports to the Supervising Editor and works closely with Editors, Assistant Editors, Senior Editors, and Post Production Supervisors.
Primary Responsibilities :
Assist editors and post production team as needed
Create assemblies based on paper cuts, perform cut-downs, and pull selects
Execute rounds of notes for editors as needed
Assist with the video finishing process; prep sequences for color correction and audio mixing, execute and upload deliverables, handle QC revisions
Deliver audio and video cue sheets per episode
Ensure projects are prepped for archiving
Edit light-lift, simple video concepts or other video projects
Desired Skills and Qualifications :
1-3 years of editing or assistant editing experience in a post-production facility
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite required
Comprehensive understanding of media codecs, aspect ratios, bit rates, compression, and finishing processes (color / mix prep / conform, QC, delivery)
Familiarity with post-production processes, workflows, and best practices
Ability to multitask in a busy environment, stay organized, and hit deadlines
Proactive self-starter with interest in developing / honing edit skills and growing at Condé Nast
Must be a strong communicator, team player, and flexible with changing asks or priorities
