POSITION SUMMARY
The Draftsperson will work with project teams to complete maps and figures to support project deliverables. Ability to accurately create figures and produce representations based on service requests from Project Managers. Demonstrate and apply skills requiring advanced knowledge in Geographic Information System (GIS) application development, GIS analysis, data management, and generic programming. Apply principals of GIS to map production and spatial data management including using templates for symbology and figure sets. Ability to update established figures using AutoCAD. Figure production expectations are to create clear, legible, complete maps minimizing errors in data layers, annotations, and graphics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Produces geospatially-accurate figures and maps based on details in drafting requests.
- Supports company-wide drafting requirements.
- Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard GIS techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Coordinates the implementation and maintenance of geographic databases.
- Conducts spatial analysis and geoprocessing.
- Researches, evaluates, recommends and implements technical and administrative solutions to achieve application objectives to forward departmental goals.
- GIS activities to include creating spatial features, developing databases, database management, data conversions, and performing spatial analyses.
QUALIFICATIONS/TECHNICAL SKILLS
- 1 years' work experience as a GIS professional.
- BS/BA Degree Geography, Life Sciences, Civil Engineering, GIS, or Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Minimum of high school or technical school training with specialized courses in GIS.
- ArcGIS Pro 3.0 familiarization
- Knowledge of how to create/update project templates that can be shared to the ArcGIS Organization will help update some of the templates and create new ones with the coming changes.

Arcade Expression Language knowledge
- A library of commonly used expressions for calculations exixts, but knowing how to generate new ones will help increase efficiency
- Python is desirable, but not necessary
- Knowledge of how domains work in a geodatabase

Knowledge with various geoprocessing tools including:
- Spatial Analyst
- 3D analyst
- Conversion
- Data Management
- Geostatistical Analyst

Knowledge of how to work with and process LiDAR data
- Important for the Inundation maps and other products that may require high-detail elevation data including UAV generated data

ArcGIS Online
- Knowledge of how an ArcGIS Online organization works
- Familiarity with ArcGIS Online and Cloud hosted data (REST services)
- Familiarization with Field Maps both on mobile devices and the ArcGIS Online component for deploying new collection maps/updating existing ones.
- Familiarity with the MyESRI environment to manage the ArcGIS service renewals

- Can employ basic drawing commands
- Knowledge of how line types, indexed and non-indexed colors work
- Familiarity converting between CAD and ArcGIS
- Familiarity working with and creating blocks
- Familiarity with Civil 3D

Photogrammetry/UAV knowledge
- Part 107 Licensed and knows how to pilot a UAV for automated data collection
- Understands high-accuracy GPS and ground control for UAV flights
- Familiar with Agisoft's Photogrammetry processing environment or another platform with similar capabilities
- Microsoft Office Applications
