Associate General Counsel (Unavailable / Expired) This position is located in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the City Campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). Duties and responsibilities of this position will involve principally supporting the strategic and operational needs of Nebraska Athletics under the direction of the Vice President and General Counsel, with an expected emphasis on sports law matters, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements related to competitions, sponsorships / commercial partnerships, naming rights, facility use, vendors, media rights, and coach employment; counseling on student-athlete related issues, including name, image, and likeness (NIL) activities; managing an active litigation docket, including responding to discovery requests, and supervising outside counsel on litigation matters; monitoring evolving legislation and legal matters that may affect collegiate athletics; and supporting the University’s strategic and operational goals with respect to the evolving landscape of Division I collegiate athletics. Salary will be commensurate with experience and credentials, plus benefits. The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check.This is a full-time staff attorney position in the Office of the Vice President & General Counsel of the University of Nebraska.
