We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create and implement developmentally appropriate educational programs tailored to the unique needs of each student using differentiated instruction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Florida Professional Teaching Certificate (PreK-3rd)
- Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Endorsement
- Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to teach small groups (6-7 students) or provide one-on-one instruction
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students at different developmental levels
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in human relations and conflict management
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver small group and individualized instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Collaborate with a professional team to develop and implement differentiated learning programs
- Collect and analyze student data to assess progress and inform instruction
- Maintain accurate attendance and progress reports
- Integrate Conductive Education principles into curriculum and classroom activities
- Work closely with professional staff to set and evaluate student goals in physical, cognitive, and social development
- Implement proactive and effective behavior management strategies, including data collection and individualized behavior plans
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school-wide events
- Provide essential caregiving duties while following universal health and safety precautions
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more repeatedly
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and carrying objects or assisting students
- Ability to perceive and respond to environmental sounds
Preferred Experience:
- 2-3 years of teaching experience working with children with disabilities and behavioral needs
