The Project Engineer at Conductor Power will oversee the technical aspects of solar renewable energy projects, ensuring timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery from design through commissioning. They will manage project planning, design, risk, and stakeholder collaboration while supervising junior engineers, technicians, and subcontractors. This role requires a background in engineering, experience in solar construction, and strong project management skills.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with design teams to create detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project viability.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during the construction phase.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of solar systems.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide expert advice as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement contingency plans as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to minimize project risks.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in solar technology and industry best practices.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve project efficiency and performance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all project records are properly archived for future reference.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide regular project updates and address client inquiries and concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Complies with all company policies.
  • All other duties assigned or delegated.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer supervises junior engineers, technicians, and subcontractors involved in solar renewable construction projects. They provide guidance, training, and technical oversight to ensure project tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
