The School of Business is seeking qualified professionals to join the Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) - Accounting, Audit and Information Technology team to teach courses part-time beginning in May 2025.
Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. Conestoga offers classes Monday to Friday from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, both in-person and online. Part-time Professors typically teach 1-2 courses. Courses are approximately 3-6 hours per week in the classroom for a 14-week term. Candidates who can teach in person during the daytime hours are preferred.

Responsibilities
- Ensure program and course curriculum are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices in the field
- Design appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and evaluating student progress and achievement
- Carry out regularly scheduled instruction according to the format prescribed for the course, including online, classroom, and computer-assisted lab lessons
- Ensure student awareness of course objectives, instructional approach, and evaluation systems
- Evaluate student progress/achievement, assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of student work within the assigned course, and maintain records as required
- Support students in the use of eConestoga, the learning management system (D2L), as well as maintain course materials within this system
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment which supports the diversity of students’ cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning styles
- Work in a collaborative, collegial manner both within the department and across the college
- Ph.D. in relevant field of study is required
- Minimum of five years of relevant industry experience is required
- Experience in adult or post-secondary level teaching is considered an asset
- Experience with curriculum development is an asset
- Experience with computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and educational technologies (e.g., D2L) is preferred
- Demonstrated exceptional presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an academic team
- Demonstrated ability to relate to learners and provide a positive learning environment to students working at different skill levels, including international students and students requiring accommodation, is an asset
- Strong commitment to academic excellence, student success, and ability to support Conestoga’s continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Strong relationships with industry contacts and network connections are considered an asset
