What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner / Buyer position at CONESTOGA WOOD SPECIALTIES?
Reporting to our Supply Chain Director, and overseeing our Buyer/Planner Specialist, our Planner/Buyer will have the opportunity to collaborate with key Sales and Operations management as an integral part of the planning and purchasing process. Our Planner/Buyer will work to develop vendor relationships and interface with both domestic and international supplier representatives in order to ensure the timely, cost effective delivery of sourced parts in support of program and customer requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Creating, reviewing, and executing material requirements
- Analyzing material usage trends to guide management in establishing optimal inventory targets
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels consistent with established guidelines
- Managing the maintenance of production data such as parts set up, item masters, and bills of material maintenance
- Tracking and managing supplier performance to include problem resolution with underperforming suppliers
- Whenever possible, preventing potential shortage issues as well as resolving issues when they arise to include keeping management informed
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Supply Chain Management/or related major, or relevant experience
- C.P.M., C.P.I.M. or C.S.C.P. certification a plus
- 2-3 years of experience in a Planning/Material Control capacity preferred
- Experience with ERP and/or demand planning, business intelligence software systems preferred
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, and/or Access)
