Conexon is a rapidly growing company working with Rural Electric Cooperatives to build advanced fiber to the home (FTTH) networks nationwide. With explosive growth comes explosive data and we’re looking for a Budget/financial analyst to help us corral some numbers.
We are currently looking for a qualified candidate to perform budget and financial analyst duties in our Kansas City office. Familiarity with general accounting concepts, financial statements and budgets required. This candidate should be interested in financial data, financial data collection, and budget analysis. The successful candidate should be proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, other data software and data analytics packages. The successful candidate should possess a strong work ethic, natural curiosity, and a “can do” attitude.
This position is based on our Kansas City office with some hybrid remote flexibility.
Requirements
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
1. Collect and analyze financial and budget data for multiple construction projects.
2. Perform budget to actuals analysis to determine if a project needs corrective action.
3. Build PPT decks that succinctly display and discuss findings of analysis.
4. Track collected data to identify trends across projects and geographies.
5. Dissect data to get to the root cause of change and quantify the change.
6. Continuously validate data for individual projects.
7. Build dashboards and PPT decks to succinctly present data, data changes, and impacts. to financial metrics of projects.
8. House data in a secure and accessible format.
9. Query data for reports to senior management.
10. Maintain and validate the integrity of the data.
11. Update and maintain spreadsheets and database to reflect most recent data and trends.
12. Additional duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
- Associate/bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, data analysis or equivalent work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI, SQL
- Familiarity with general accounting concepts, financial statements, budgets, and budget to actual analysis
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work
