Our investment management client, in partnership with Conexus Recruiting, seeks a talented Accounting Manager to join their Corporate Finance and Accounting Team. This role is a newly created role, reflecting a substantial increase in their Assets Under Management (AUM). The Accounting Manager reports to the Controller.

Job Title: Accounting Manager
Location: near West Los Angeles, CA
Job Status (direct hire, consulting, consulting with possibility of hire) – This role is a direct hire role.
Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote) – Our client has a hybrid job site status of three (3) days/week in the office and two days/week of remote work (subject to change).
Compensation – Salary range is $130,000 to $150,000/year. Our client offers health insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off (PTO).
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Accounting
- Oversee month-end closes of the General Ledger (G/L).
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
- Maintain accurate financial records and statements for numerous management company entities.
- Generate financial statements for upper management.
Accounting Operations
- Manage company cash modeling and forecasting.
- Invoice Quarterly/Annual Separately Managed Account client management/performance fee statements.
Compliance and Controls
- Manage the annual audit process for various management companies.
- Support executives with all external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and answering all questions.
- Ensure all accounting processes follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Miscellaneous
- Assist in implementing NetSuite, in close collaboration with the Controller.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including any technology advancements.
- Engage in any necessary forecasting and modeling of financial projections as needed.
- Assist in tax filing and tax provisions matters.
- Accept all relevant tasks as given by upper management.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a comparable major.
- At least eight (8) years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least three (3) years of supervisory/managerial experience.
Preferred
- CPA
- Prior work experience at a public accounting firm before transitioning to private industry.
- Prior work experience at a Big 4 or national accounting firm.
- Prior employment at an investment management/asset management firm.
SKILLS OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER

- Proficiency in a major ERP System.
Interpersonal
- Self-starter who can take the initiative and work with minimum supervision.
- Superb analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Impeccable communication skills.
Preferred
Technical
- Proficiency with NetSuite.
- Current or prior experience with implementing a major ERP system.
