A private equity–backed consumer goods company is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to step into a critical role during a time of transition. The company is $60M in revenue with a lean internal team. This is a hands-on role for a strong accounting leader who can stabilize daily accounting operations while building and documenting key financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day accounting functions, including month-end close
- Build and document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Partner directly with the CFO to drive operational efficiency
- Manage and support junior team members
- Assist in preparation for future permanent hire and team scaling
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Leader in a CPG, manufacturing, or distribution environment
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Bill.com - familiarity with CIN7 is a plus
- Experience building and implementing SOPs and internal controls
- Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth company
- Comfortable in a hybrid work environment (in-office Tuesday–Thursday in Bellevue, WA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in private equity–backed or founder-led companies
- Ability to quickly adapt and integrate into a lean team structure
- Public Accounting experience
- Strong documentation, communication, and leadership skills
- Availability to start immediately or within a few business days
Compensation
- $70-95/hr depending on experience
