Our Public Services Client is looking for a Director of SEC Reporting to join their growing organization. You will be responsible for the oversight of all SEC Reporting functions, Technical Accounting, and be involved in SOX. Their ideal candidate must have an active CPA and a Public Accounting upbringing.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations, supervision, and leadership.
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure of the company.
- Collaborate with the SEC Reporting team, including reviewing quarterly and annual financial reports - Forms 10-Q/K.
- Support M&A transactions including assistance with due diligence, review of valuation reports, and purchase accounting memo preparation.
- Assist in SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance efforts related to technical accounting policies and financial reporting.
- Direct, monitor and analyze the team’s work to develop best practices and more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain the Company’s accounting policies, educate the broader accounting team on the application of required policies.
- Responsible for managing and supporting a timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process (including preparing and posting journal entries, as needed).
- Responsible for the consolidation of all entities, including all appropriate elimination entries, to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month-end close.
- Participate in initiatives to maximize utilization of the ERP system to enhance the workflows in the accounting department. Provide guidance to the accounting team and other departments, as needed, by researching and interpreting accounting standards and providing recommendations for operational issues.
- Responsible for monthly sales and use tax compliance.
- Support the annual audit and budget process.
- Responsible for general ledger maintenance, data integrity and accuracy.
- Ensures compliance with and/or follows all organizational systems, programs, training, policies, and procedures as required and complies with relevant legal mandates. Seeks guidance as necessary.
- Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.
- Handles various other duties as delegated by the senior management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Public Accounting experience required
- CPA license required
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Collaborative team player with positive attitude
