What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Lathe Machinist (Night Shift) position at Coneybeare LLC?
We are looking for a 2nd shift CNC Lathe machinist with a leading aerospace manufacturing machine shop producing high-precision parts for both commercial and defense applications. You will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of manufacturing and production in the aerospace manufacturing industry.
2nd Shift, Monday to Friday 02:00pm – 10:30pm
BASIC FUNCTION: Set-up and operate CNC Lathe to meet production and quality requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to operate CNC Lathe machinery as required (CNC Mill experience is a plus).
- Verify part quantity with the job traveler.
- Make machine adjustments as required to maintain print specifications.
- Understanding of GD&T.
- Study and determine the part tolerances and methods of measurement for each job.
- Ability to run more than one machine maintaining run times as required.
- Set-up machines.
- Use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical and visual checks for part inspection.
- Maintain clean and organized department and work area.
- Communicate with coworkers and supervisor as needed.
- Determine when equipment requires preventative maintenance.
- Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs.
- Take parts to inspect material when necessary.
- Analyze blueprints & travelers.
- Complete all necessary paperwork as required in a timely & accurate manner.
Qualifications:
- 3 plus years CNC Lathe Experience Required.
- Micrometer: 3 years (Required).
- Manufacturing: 3 years (Required).
- Mill experience is a plus
SKILLS:
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to use micrometers, indicators, and precision gauges.
- Attention to detail.
- Maintain confidentiality.

- Ability to adhere to 5S and lean standards.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 5 hours at a time.
- Ability to occasionally lift boxes up to 40lbs and regularly lift boxes up to 20lbs.

- Communication skills to train others as needed.
- Basic math & geometry skills.
Compensation: $28 to $32 per hour, depending on experience.
