Facility Maintenance Worker II (2) Two Positions
Facility Management
Department of Administration
Hourly Wage: $17.36/Regular/Full-Time
Performs general carpentry, electrical, heating & air conditioning, painting, and plumbing duties as required to repair, modify, and/or construct facilities under the scope of the Yakama Nation Facility Management Program. Performs grounds maintenance and janitorial duties, maintain and monitors safety equipment, and operates and uses a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, janitorial equipment, and ground maintenance equipment, as needed to complete duties. Responsible for the cleanliness and basic maintenance of Yakama Nation Properties. Responsible for the maintenance of tools and ensure safe storage of the tools when not in use.
Examples of Work Performed:
Performs a variety of skilled trade work in one or more of the buildings, mechanical, or base electrical trades, in the maintenance and repair of Yakama Nation Facilities, furnishings, and equipment.
Maintenance of the grounds for various buildings/sites inside and outside, cleaning interior when needed and maintaining the campus, keeping grounds free of weeds and debris.
Maintenance of utility system for various sites, knowledge to diagnose and repair plumbing system typical of residential and light commercial buildings; install various plumbing fixtures and systems.
Performs a variety of electrical repairs and installations; installs and tests electrical fixtures, control equipment, and wiring; maintains and repairs electrically operated equipment. Performs carpentry duties with skill necessary to do renovation, alteration, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, partitions, doors, windows, wooden fixtures, install hardware on doors, windows, and furniture.
Performs painting of ceiling, walls, doors (interior and exterior), also varnishes. Removes lint scales and loose paint with steel brush and scraping, fills holes and cracks with patching putty. Uses oil base and water base paint, uses spray gun, paint brush or paint roller.
Performs other types of trades work including welding, cement work, plastering, tiling, and carpeting.
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or manager of Facility Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment of one or more of the building, mechanical, and electrical trades.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in general building maintenance work.
Knowledge of residential and light commercial electrical systems in order to diagnose and select repair methods for common electrical problems.
Ability to perform skilled work in one or more trades.
Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
Ability to interpret plans and sketches associated with one or more trades.
Skill in the use and care of the tools, materials, and equipment of the trades applicable to work assignments.
Minimum Requirements:
Two years carpenter experience or two years maintenance work or successful completion of technical school training in related field.
High School Diploma or GED, any experience or education that demonstrates the ability to perform the work outlined.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
