Hourly Wage: $19.14/Regular/Full-Time
A Safe Keeper is responsible for protecting Yakama Nation DV Shelter from incident or harm to YNBHS Staff. The duties include monitoring YNBHS Clinical building and DV Shelter and its parameters evicting trespassers and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift.
Examples of Work Performed:
Patrolling and monitoring activities on the company's premises regularly to escort unauthorized individuals from premises and ensure the environment is safe and secure.
Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before authorities arrive and take over.
Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and vehicles according to protocols.
Monitoring surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred during current shifts.
Testing security systems and if needed, operate X-ray machines and metal detectors.
Using Provided communication devices such as two-way radio in clear and concise manner.
Performing CPR or First Aid when needed.
Abide by Yakama Nation Rules and Regulations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team.
Ability to write reports and solve problems as they arise.
Ability to pay attention to detail and react appropriately in stressful situations.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Candidates applying for a Safe Keeper should have at least a year of work experience as a security officer or related field.
Candidates should also have demonstrable experience working with security systems, be proficient in Microsoft Office and know how to write reports.
Trained security officer with diploma.
Required to pass pre-employment drug test.
Required to pass pre-employment background check.
Must have CPR/First Aid or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving permit.
Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Requirements:
Preferred work experience in the police force, army, private security or related field.
