SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Delivery Driver is responsible for the timely and safe delivery of medications, prescriptions, and medical supplies to patients, healthcare facilities, and clinics.
Principal Activities & Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently delivers medications, prescriptions, and medical supplies to patients homes, healthcare providers, and clinics according to established routes and schedules.
- Verifies the accuracy of prescriptions and ensures medication are delivered as per the pharmacys guidelines and regulations.
- Maintains accurate delivery logs, including patient and prescription details, ensuring compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Provides exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, confirming delivery details, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Handles all deliveries with care, ensuring medications and medical supplies as protected from damage during transit.
- Communicates effectively with pharmacy staff to coordinate and confirm delivery schedules, routes, and special instructions.
- Ensures the safe and timely return of undelivered medications or packages to the pharmacy, if applicable.
- Performs routine checks on the delivery vehicle, ensuring it is clean, well-maintained, and in good working condition.
- Complies with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating the vehicle.
- Assists with loading and unloading medication packages, ensuring proper handling and organization during delivery.
- Reports any vehicle issues, delays, or accidents immediately to management.
- Follows established protocols for handling and transporting sensitive medical information and medication in compliance with HIPPA and other privacy standards.
- Supports the pharmacy team with additional tasks, such as inventory assistance, as needed.
- Interacts with Tribal members and the public in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
- During slower periods, may receive training and assist as a Pharmacy Clerk.
- Other duties as directed by management.
- No supervisory authority.
- Moderate noise level with frequent interruptions and distractions.
- Work will primarily involve driving and making deliveries, with occasional time spent in the pharmacy for loading and unloading.
- Drive time may occur in all weather conditions and at times night hours.
- Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on organization needs.
- Must be willing and able to travel both locally and with the CTCLUSI service delivery area.
- Must be able to walk, talk, hear, use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to drive for long periods.
- Ability to navigate stairs and deliver to various locations, including residential and healthcare facilities.

Required Experience
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 25 years old per Vehicle Use Policy.
- Must have a valid drivers license and be able to be insured to drive Tribal Government vehicles.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior delivery driving experience a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage delivery schedules and route planning.
- Basic knowledge of medication handling and privacy regulations, such as HIPAA, is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- This is a safety-sensitive position and will be subject to pre-employment drug testing and criminal history background check, which will include fingerprinting.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Indian preference will be observed in the hiring process.
