Starting Wage Range: $24.60/hr. - $31.84/hr.
Job Summary:
Contributes to the Human Resources mission to find, recruit, develop and retain employees by providing various levels of support, tools and coordination. Coordinates direct administrative support for the Employment Team for the various employment functions.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates and assists with the job posting and requisition procedure, as well as maintains and updates all relevant data in the applicant tracking and Onboarding systems.
- Assists with coordinating and maintaining the temporary employment services pool process.
- Checks and tracks applications daily; new applicants, rehires and Tribal Member applicants.
- Coordinates with other Tribal departments as needed to assist Tribal member applicants/employees with overcoming employment barriers.
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal/outside employment resources including, but not limited to, private contractors, local and State government programs to assist Tribal members.
- Responsible for maintaining and assuring strict confidentiality.
- Assists with the e-filing system for employee records ensuring compliance with federal retention requirements.
- Accepts incoming documents, enters into tracking database, pulls corresponding personnel file and forwards to appropriate Human Resources staff for processing.
- Proofreads documents and verifies accuracy of own work and that of others.
- Maintains compliance with all regulations and laws governing recruitment, selection, and employment including Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO).
- Coordinates and schedules applicant interviews and testing.
- Maintains the department's bulletin board (e.g., current job openings and benefit information).
- Assists with department projects.
- Monitors electronic PAN database and prints current documents as submitted for temp employees.
- Schedules appointments and meetings for department staff and for maintaining department’s group calendar.
- Prepares purchase orders; monitors and orders supplies; ensures adequate supply of forms and use of most current version of forms.
- Assists with various department audits.
- Updates human resources related forms and documents.
- Provides overall assistance and support to Tribal member applicants to obtain sustainable employment
- Assists applicants with completing on-line applications, reviews for completeness and responds to applicant inquiries.
- Maintains employment section of the CTGR Human Resources web page.
- Prepares interview packets, assists with scheduling interviews, and administers applicant testing.
- Assists with collecting pre-employment and new hire paperwork.
- Communicates with applicants on the status of their employment applications by letter, phone, or e-mail.
- Assists with gathering employment reference checks; coordinates pre-employment drug screens, background and driving record checks.
- Tracks recruitment information and generates reports as needed.
- Responds to simple and moderately complex customer requests and inquiries.
- Completes Pre-Employment Drug Tests for Post-Offer Applicants, including sending “Non-Negative” samples to Laboratory for further testing.”
- Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
- Requires a high school diploma or GED and requires two (2) years’ work experience in human resources or a closely related field.
- OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- High security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
Driving Requirements:
- This position may require driving.
Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:
- High volume recruiting strategies and techniques preferred.
- Must have knowledge of principles, practices and regulations governing human resources management.
- Ability to gain knowledge and adhere to the Tribe’s Personnel Management Ordinance and Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance.
- Requires advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and presentation software (MicroSoft).
- Requires excellent communication skills, listening, verbal and written skills and excellent interaction and interpersonal skills.
- Requires discretion, courtesy and tact, involving contacts with employees, committee members, clients, applicants, and other visitors.
- Requires demonstrated experience in maintaining confidentiality.
- Must be able to prepare and maintain accurate departmental reports, records, and documentation.

- Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
- Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
- Occasionally requires lifting of up to 20 pounds.
- Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
- This position is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions.
- Work is performed in an office environment with occasional exposure to tobacco smoke and noise common to gaming environments.
- May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during emergencies.
- Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.
