Starting Wage Range: $27.05/hr. - $34.95/hr.

Job Summary:
Provides peer support services as part of a multi-disciplinary team of Great Circle Recovery (GCR), Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). Service provision will focus on working with clients to enhance their recovery. Ensures the provision of health care services takes place in a professional, non-bias environment and is accomplished in an efficient and respectful manner. Contributes to accomplishment of the Tribe’s holistic health and wellness objectives for clients.
Essential Functions:
Openly identifies as a person who has lived the experience of receiving services within an OTP setting.
Acts as a positive role model for individuals being served, showing a recovery and healthful lifestyle orientation. Shares own recovery story with individuals being served when appropriate.
Provides information and ideas to inform leadership and help to improve services delivered to clients within the OTP setting.
Acts as advocate for individuals being served, both within the organization and also with other entities.
Provides and promotes a strengths-based, wellness-informed, client centered approach to assisting individuals being served in achieving person-driven goals.
Participates in outreach efforts to engage clients, including appointments, resource referrals, and work in the community.
Assists with screenings, intakes, treatment plans, discharges, and client reengagement.
Collects, prepares, and maintains informational materials regarding methamphetamines and opioids.
Assists clients with prison and post-treatment re-entry plans working with judicial systems and with health and social services staff.
Provides child care services while clients are receiving services i.e. intake, dosing, individual and group sessions.
Transports clients to various appointments and other community resources.
Assists clients with drug/wellness court processes and obligations.
Assists with case management, and collects statistics on challenges and successes.
Coordinates with OTP staff to promote awareness, information, encouragement and referral to the OTP services.
Networks with community agencies, health, housing, and education programs and with outside agencies and organizations to help client’s access services and to help enhance or improve services.
Attends interdepartmental and interagency meetings.
Assists with informing best practices within the clinic to identify ways to continue lowering barriers to treatment and improving client outcomes.
Authorized to transport clients of Great Circle Recovery in company vehicle as necessary

Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education, Experience, and Licenses:
High school diploma or GED required.
Requires two (2) years of experience with addiction recovery services.
Certified Recovery Mentor, Traditional Healthcare Worker or Peer Support Specialist by the State of Oregon is required at the time of hire. One of the following required in order to meet the definition of Peer as defined by the State of Oregon Administrative Rule:
Self-identified person currently or formerly receiving mental health services
Self-identified person in recovery from a substance abuse disorder, who meet the abstinence requirements for recovering staff in alcohol and other drug treatment programs
Family member of an individual who is a current or former recipient of addictions or mental health services
If a recovering chemically dependent person must be in a program of recovery and able to provide documentation of sobriety for a minimum of two years.

Driving Requirements:
Must maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license or obtain one upon hire, qualify for the Tribe’s vehicle insurance, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.

Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:
Must have knowledge of the effects of trauma, coping, and other aspects of the lives of those served.
Adherences to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy, access, and client health information in compliance with Federal and state laws and the healthcare organization’s information privacy practices. Must have a working knowledge of the Privacy Act/HIPPA and its applications.
Must have strong interpersonal skills working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Must respect all others regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or income level.
Proven ability to work independently and interpret policies and procedures, under pressure with little or no supervision.
Ability to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
Ability to work with all levels of individuals, including disgruntled people in an effective manner.
Demonstrated working knowledge of computer software such as Word, Excel, and related programs.
Ability to operate standard office equipment (i.e. copier, fax machine, personal computer).
Excellent interpersonal skills oral and written.
Requires strong commitment to accurately completing task, solving problems, demonstrating initiative, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to speak before an audience effectively; compile written reports; read and interpret various documents; and obtain the cooperation of Tribal programs.
Proven ability to work independently and interpret policies and procedures, under pressure with little or no supervision required.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American culture required.

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
Occasionally requires lifting of up to 40 pounds.
Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
This position is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions.
Supports a safe work environment by performing all duties in accordance with Tribal safety policies and procedures, and Emergency Management Plan.
May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during emergencies.
Local travel is required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.

Candidates for this position will be subject to criminal and character background checks and will be subject to fingerprinting.
