Job Overview:
Join our team as a Benefits Coordinator where you will play a vital role in supporting the HR department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for administering employee benefits to include health/welfare and 401k plans, assisting employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifying and processing benefits insurance billing, maintaining employee database and files, and ensuring compliance with required benefit notices. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. Responsible for benefits and eligibility determination.
Responsibilities:
A. Distributes information on and explains benefits programs such as retirement, health, life, disability, and workers' compensation plans to employees and dependents.
B. Investigates and resolves questions regarding delivery and payment for services by contacting health care professionals and other service providers, benefit plan providers, and employees.
C. Verifies benefits enrollment forms.
D. Signs up and closes out benefits accounts for employees in accordance with status changes and policy.
E. Reviews reports from plan providers, verifies accuracy and resolves differences.
F. Enters benefits-related data into computerized human resources information system (HRIS).
G. Maintains accurate records and prepares clear, concise, and competent reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
H. Maintains files of enrollment forms and other documentation.
I. Sends enrollment information to benefit plan providers and other plan administrators.
J. Works with payroll to calculate employee paycheck deductions for benefits and assists in resolving discrepancies.
K. Knowledge of modern principles and practices of Human Resources administration and record keeping.
L. Produces reports of benefit enrollment, benefit deductions, and plan participation.
M. Effective and operational knowledge of daily HR functions, applicable laws and regulations related to employee benefits.
N. Coordinates annual open enrollment benefits fair.
O. Performs related duties as required or assigned.
P. May be assigned duties under the Chehalis Tribe Emergency Management Plan and Program.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. An Associate's degree in Human Resources with 4 years experience may be substituted.
- Two (2) years experience in benefits administration required.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to HR practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Pay: $34.77 - $43.46 per hour
