POSITION : Healthcare Business Office Supervisor
SALARY : $30.37-$35.20, per hour DOE
REPORTS TO : HHS Director
LOCATION : Health and Human Services; Nespelem, Washington
Basic Functions : This is a non-exempt position. Supports the HHS Division and is responsible for performing and delegating (where appropriate) day to day office operations and assignments specifically related to general administration and fiscal management. Plans, oversees, and provides business accounting and administrative services in areas such as 'enterprise' financial accounting and cost analysis, payroll processing, grants supervision, and contract administration. Researches, analyzes, and develops financial projections, prepares financial, grant, and program related reports, and participates in budget and grant development processes. Collaborates with senior administrative staff and leadership in the management of complex projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education and Training :
- The position typically requires an Associates' degree from an accredited college with emphasis in accounting, business or public administration and five or more years of experience in performing financial functions in accounting, business, finance or related field, with demonstrated experience working with complex budget and grant development and maintenance. Bachelors or Master's degree in related field may substitute for required years of experience.
- Requires a valid driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes vehicle insurance and maintain throughout employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
The position requires specialized knowledge of accounting operations that include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets and funds transfer within municipal and 'enterprise' accounting systems.Requires working knowledge of financial analysis sufficient to perform studies.Requires working knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment, including filing systems, receptionist and telephone techniques, and letter and report writing.Requires knowledge of grant development, management, and requirements.Requires knowledge of the principles and practices associated with supervision, leadership style, team building, and performance appraisal.Requires working knowledge of Tribal functions, programs, policies, legislative, intergovernmental, and community-based processes.Requires advanced working knowledge of personal computer based software programs that support this level of work, including but not limited to common office productivity software and the financial accounting systems used by the organization.Requires sufficient math skills to tabulate, summarize, compile and compute accounting and statistical information using financial and other numeric data.Requires sufficient knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare professional correspondence and write and edit report text. Requires sufficient human relations skill to work productively and cooperatively with other work teams, exercise patience when dealing with internal and external customers, convey technical concepts, and review performance.Requires ability to learn, interpret, explain and apply knowledge of Tribal organization and business processes, and special terminology used in the assigned office.Requires the ability to prepare budgets, variance analyses, and cost / benefit studies.Requires the ability to manage grant portfolios.Requires the ability to prepare spreadsheets, graphs and charts, and enter, import and export data to and from databases, and access information from internal and external databases to support research.Requires the ability to collect, evaluate and interpret a broad range of complex data, either in electronic, written, statistical or narrative form.Requires the ability to learn, understand, interpret, and apply applicable laws, codes, and policies, including those associated with generally accepted accounting practices.Requires the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other documents appropriate to the audience including the ability to layout and present text and graphics in clear and logical formats.Requires the ability to collect and maintain appropriate data, attend regular assigned meetings, take minutes, and maintain deliverables, action items, and follow ups.Requires the ability to maintain productive and cooperative relationships with those encountered on work-related matters, including elected officials, representatives of other governmental agencies, and the public.Requires sufficient hand-eye-arm coordination to use a keyboard and 10-key plus arm / hand movements to retrieve work materials and operate a variety of general office equipment.Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers.Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations over the phone and in person.Note : Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes' Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
