Job Summary
A short-notice Greenhouse Laborer is needed to assist in the daily operations of a greenhouse. This role involves extracting seeds, sowing seeds, packing seedlings, and sterilizing seedling trays. Key Responsibilities
- Extract seeds from cones or plants, dry and weigh the seeds.
- Keep records of seeds by customer, species, location, and date.
- Fill trays with soil, plant seeds to the proper depth, and top off with grit.
- Relocate plants to the correct lot location in greenhouses or holding areas.
- Set up gravity conveyor lines, move seedlings for packing, extract seedlings from containers, grade seedlings, count, and store in boxes.
- Operate forklifts, pickup trucks, utility vehicles, lawn mowers, thermometers, weigh scales, calipers, rulers, and conveyors.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to observe and practice job-related safety practices.
