POSITION: Short Notice Licensed Practical Nurse
SALARY: $33.09 p/h
REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing
LOCATION: Convalescent Center: Nespelem, Washington
Basic Functions: Provide direct nursing care to the residents. Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the NAC’s. Such supervision must be in accordance with all current federal, state, and tribal standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility. Provide the highest degree of care to each and every resident.
Qualifications
Education and Training:
- Requires a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Washington AND have 12 months of experience in a long term care facility, preferred
- Requires a valid Washington State Drivers' License and must be eligible for the Tribes' Vehicle Insurance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires knowledge of nursing, medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
- Requires incumbent to report abuse and neglect to State Hotline as a mandated reporter.
- Requires the ability to make independent decisions.
- Requires ability to cover extra shifts when able, as this facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Requires ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
- Requires knowledge of Geriatrics and LTC setting and Chronic Diseases.
- Requires knowledge of and ability to respect resident rights.
- Requires ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and must be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such a weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet.
- Must be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
