MUST BE COMMITTED, REQUIRED TO BE AWAY FROM HOME FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME DURING FIRE SEASON, (unless a family emergency occurs within immediate family). The purpose of the position is wild land fire suppression / management / control, as a skilled senior firefighter on a Hotshot crew. Other wild land fire related duties might involve fire prevention, patrol, detection, or prescribed burning. The incumbent may be assigned for varying periods of time into one or more types of positions within the wildfire program where the individuals specialized skills are required. This position is at full performance level. Must be a firefighter 1 qualified. Must have a valid State Issued drivers license.
Requirements
Required to pass medical exam and arduous fitness test. Must have a telephone or reliable message phone, and be available and on call 24 hours a day during the fire season. Must subject to and pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement.
