Job Summary & Responsibilities
Must pass Criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment. Must pass medical screening and arduous fitness test. Main duties are assisting in all aspects of wild land and prescribed fire operations including but not limited to preparation, ignition, monitoring, hold, mop-up and rehabilitation. Will operate equipment and power tools required on wild land and / or prescribed fires. Collecting data and information along with maintaining accurate records of needed information in prevention / controlling fires. Performs hazardous fuels reduction projects which entails cutting, moving, and piling vegetation and may also install vegetation monitoring plots and input results for analysis. Assists in emergency operations as trained and qualified. Travel is required 50% or greater of the time and at times may be required to travel by light fixed-wing or rotor-wing aircraft.
