» As a Consumer Loan Officer Trainee, you will assist with customer service, collections, and credit investigations while learning the key skills necessary for a future Credit Officer role. This position focuses on building expertise in credit evaluation, customer support, and loan processing.

» This role is part of a structured training program designed to develop skills in credit approval, loan negotiation, and marketing. The goal is to prepare candidates for a Credit Officer role, focusing on customer relations and dealership partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

» Deliver excellent customer service via phone, in person, and online by resolving inquiries and offering solutions.

» Collect payments on past-due accounts and arrange payment plans.

» Market loan opportunities to customers.

» Process, analyze, and input direct consumer loan applications including identifying the real loan purpose and potential collateral to secure the loan.

» Conduct credit investigations by verifying employment, financial information, and credit history.

» Make credit recommendations and support loan origination decisions to the Consumer Loan Officer whether to approve, decline or counteroffer both direct loan and contract credit applications.

» Assist with general branch operations and contribute to meet our customers’ needs and organizations success.

Qualifications:

» Education: College degree preferred; relevant financial experience (2 years) may be considered.

» Experience: Knowledge of finance, credit underwriting, and customer interaction is a plus.

» Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

» Bilingual: Spanish/English proficiency is a plus.

» Skills/Aptitude:

    » Strong communication, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

    » Ability & desire to interact with a diverse customer base.

    » Ability & desire to learn and accurately apply applicable laws and regulations.

    » Ability & desire to learn, effective credit underwriting, including approval, denial, and counteroffer.

    » Ability & desire to learn, effective negotiation and marketing skills

    » Organizational and time management skills with ability to work under pressure

    » Strong teamwork & interpersonal rapport building skills.

    » Display strong business acumen including understanding economics & risks related to financing.

» Screening Requirements: Ability to pass a Background Check & Credit Check

» Professional Development: Willingness to be part of a development program with initial focus on the Credit Officer position with long-term career potential to progress into additional leadership roles.
