Position Overview:
Seeking a dynamic and strategic-minded supply chain leader with a strong focus on analytical and strategic skills, coupled with deep expertise in raw materials sourcing and procurement processes. As a strategic sourcing specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the procurement strategy for our business in the Americas, while also identifying and capitalizing on new business development opportunities. Your expertise will drive solution review, planning, estimation, and overall procurement excellence, ensuring alignment with both regional and global strategic goals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As the International Senior Supply Chain Leader - Lead Buyer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Define the regional procurement strategy for the commodity portfolio, leveraging analytical insights and market trends.
- Oversee and manage procurement projects and suppliers within the respective commodity buy.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with North American and South American strategic approaches.
- Create strategic and tactical sourcing plans tailored to local demand.
- Establish and nurture effective communication channels with Department Leads/BU Stakeholders, and Regional Buyers.
- Coordinate and oversee all procurement functions, from the initiation of an intent to purchase to the successful delivery of materials.
- Collaborate closely with sourcing project representatives, such as Product Sourcing Managers, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Contribute to the formulation of regional strategies alongside the Regional President and business unit leaders, including decisions related to make-or-buy approaches.
- Lead the selection and management of key supplier relationships, working collaboratively with buyers in North America and South America.
Qualifications:
- Experience in sourcing raw materials and preferably metals (iron & steel).
- Proven experience as a strategic leader in international supply chain, with a strong emphasis on sourcing and procurement processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of regional and global market trends and dynamics impacting procurement decisions.
- Ability to manage and optimize supplier relationships for long-term value creation.
Licensing or Certifications: Preferred certifications include one or more of the following: ISM, CPIM, CPM, VCA, APICS, CPPB, ISO, ERP, PMP, MRP.
Education: A Bachelor's or University Degree in Engineering, Business, Business Administration, Technical field, Education, Business School, MBA, Supply Chain Management, Associates, or Management is typically required.
