We are seeking an experienced and motivated Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive service and repair, with a proven ability to manage a team effectively. Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
- Manage and train service staff, including mechanics and service writers, to enhance their skills and performance.
- Develop and implement service department policies and procedures to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests with professionalism and promptness.
- Perform auto estimating for repairs, ensuring accurate pricing for services rendered.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding vehicle maintenance and repair practices.
- Conduct regular inspections of work performed by technicians to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Coordinate with dealership management to align service department goals with overall business objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive service management or a similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, including oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Proficient in auto estimating and service writing practices.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team of mechanics.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and staff alike.
- Familiarity with dealership operations is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
