Finance and Accounting for Single Family Office
New York City–based single family office seeks exceptionally intelligent and responsible Finance and Accounting specialist to collaborate closely with our CFO and other key team members. Our team has a comprehensive approach to address all financial needs of the family office and associated entities.
Responsibilities will include:
- Taking point on financial reporting to ensure timely, accurate, and useful information flow to principals
- Implementing and optimizing technology and software systems
- Creating and maintaining meticulous financial records and documentation
- Daily accounting operations including accounts payable processing, general ledger management, and preparation of bank reconciliations
- Monitoring cash balances for various accounts and entities, creating and maintaining projections, and liaising with banks to ensure that liquidity needs are met
- Coordinating closely with our tax team on tax preparation, filings, and payments
- Monitoring and analysis of investments with the potential to support strategy and planning
- Strategically thinking through different scenarios and presenting analyses and options
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards
- Providing input on a broad set of financial and operational initiatives to optimize outcomes
Outstanding research, analysis, and communication skills are required, as is a strong fluency with Excel. An efficient, detail-oriented approach and a no-task-too-small mentality are also very important. The person in the role must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. A CPA license and/or family office experience is not required but would be a plus.
