Position Title: Scheduling and Logistics Manager
Position Summary:
The Scheduling & Logistics Manager (SLM) is responsible for developing and managing a centralized master control Scheduling and Logistics Platform (SLP). This includes coordinating internal and external teams to ensure project schedules and logistics plans are well-organized, timely, and effectively communicated. The SLM ensures accuracy in data analytics and reporting, conducts weekly site inspections, and guides teams on scheduling and logistics best practices, incorporating LEAN Construction and Sustainable design principles.
This role serves as a liaison between project teams and senior management, tracking and reporting logistics issues affecting project progress. The SLM will use tools like Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Cloud, Microsoft Project, Microsoft PowerPoint, and 4D BIM for reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Scheduling Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain:
- Master Program Schedule (Summary & Detail)
- Master Program Milestone Schedule
- Monthly Program Roadmap Schedule
- Individual Project Schedules
- Design & Construction Schedules
- Vendor Schedules (FF&E, Technology, Security, Relocation, etc.)
- Client Schedules
- Coordinate schedules across all teams (consultants, contractors, vendors).
- Track milestones, identify potential delays, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Report scheduling updates to management and ensure timely communications.
Logistics Responsibilities:
- Manage site logistics planning and execution during pre-construction and construction.
- Coordinate with project teams and ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Identify risks and provide solutions for logistics issues.
- Develop a logistics plan covering owner staff flow, parking, temporary conditions, etc.
- Monitor budget and ensure logistics costs align with project requirements.
Project Cost and Budget Management:
- Support the Project Controls Manager with cost tracking, financial forecasting, and budgeting for scheduling and logistics activities.
- Assist in the development of cost models for logistics, ensuring financial considerations are factored into scheduling and resource allocation decisions.
- Work with Program and Project Managers to provide accurate forecasts of project expenses related to scheduling and logistics.
Construction Support and Administration:
- Provide ongoing support for construction administration, including tracking construction progress, change orders, and budget updates.
- Ensure accurate reporting of construction timelines, milestones, and logistics activity.
- Support the Project Management team in ensuring compliance with construction and safety standards.
Project Closeout and Reporting:
- Assist with the finalization of project reports, ensuring that all logistics and scheduling documentation is completed and organized according to client standards.
- Ensure proper tracking and documentation of all project milestones, deliverables, and financial reports as part of project closeout.
Required Qualifications:
Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to maintain organized project tracking and reporting.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6 is required).
- Experience managing large-scale, multi-year construction projects.
- Strong communication and team management skills.
- Comfortable with mobile applications (iPhone, iPad) for job functions.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum Experience: 8 years in construction scheduling and logistics for large projects.
- Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma (required).
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or Project Management (preferred).
- Equivalent work experience (10 years) may substitute for a degree.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and site visits.
- Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels and construction environments.
Compensation: $220,000 to $230,000 50% of individual health insurance
