Overview
We are seeking a part time, dedicated and skilled Surgical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow in the surgical environment. This position requires a strong understanding of dental/medical terminology , and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Part time hours are as followed: Monday & Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-1pm with an option to become full time starting in July.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during surgical procedures by providing four-handed dentistry support.
- Prepare and maintain the surgical area, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Manage patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform medical imaging tasks, including X-ray procedures, as required.
- Maintain sterilization protocols for all dental instruments and equipment.
- Provide patient education regarding pre and post-operative care.
- Utilize dental software WINOMS
Requirements
- Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to dental practices.
- Experience in dental assisting with knowledge of oral surgery preferred.
- Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Experience with medical imaging and X-ray procedures. (required)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate patient records.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while providing exceptional patient care.
- Previous experience in oral surgery is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
